What an incredible journey we've been on together over these past few weeks!
As our artifact auction draws to a close, I wanted to take a moment to share some reflections and, most importantly, to extend my gratitude to everyone who participated.
From the beginning, our intention with this auction was to make these pieces of history available to the public. These aren’t just artifacts; they are symbols of the enduring story of our Lakes Region. To see them find new homes within our community fills all of us here at the Mount with pride.
Your enthusiasm has been a testament to the connection we all share with the lake and our vessels. We’ve heard from so many of you—old crewmates, loyal residents, and new enthusiasts eager to preserve a piece of the past. Each message has been a reminder of the deep-rooted bonds we share.
When we think about tourism, it’s easy to focus on the scenic beauty or the historical facts we share with our guests. While these are powerful, I believe it is our values that leave the most lasting impression. The integrity with which we operate, our respect for heritage, our commitment to community, and the genuine connections we forge—these are the things that create a legacy that lasts.
This auction, in many ways, embodies those values. It’s about honoring our past, yes, but also about shaping our future by sharing that history with intention. Our company’s story isn’t just about ships, tours, or even artifacts. It is a narrative woven together by generations of dedicated individuals, by the beauty of our environment, and by the shared experiences of everyone who has crossed our paths.
In this story, each of you plays a vital part. That's why we are so grateful to see our history find a permanent home with you.
As we look ahead, I’m excited for what the future holds. This auction has been more than just a sale; it’s a reaffirmation of the incredible community we continue to build together. Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey. Here’s to many more chapters in our shared story!
